Each March, ECAS Theater presents a month-long series of plays, workshops and lectures dedicated to Spanish-language theater. A number of groups, actors and directors from across the US, Colombia, Ecuador and the Dominican Republic have participated in this annual event. ECAS Theater presents "Tres Sombreros de Copa" by Miguel Mihura - Opens Spring 2009 una comedia de Miguel Mihura, escrita en 1932 y estrenada veinte años después, que está considerada como una de las obras maestras del teatro humorístico. Esta obra supone, por su originalidad, una ruptura completa con el teatro cómico anterior. La asociación inverosímil de situaciones, los diálogos poco lógicos y los juegos lingüísticos la aproximan al teatro vanguardista de Samuel Beckett o Ionesco. Tres sombreros de copa desarrolla el tema de la libertad alcanzada y perdida. |
